QSC Peptides · Long Arg3 IGF-1
IGF-1 LR3 (Long Arg3 IGF-1) has a 13-aa N-terminal extension and Arg3 substitution that reduces IGFBP binding ~1000-fold — extending half-life from ~12 min (native) to ~20–30 hours. The primary downstream effector of HGH signaling via PI3K-Akt-mTOR. QSC Peptides offers 0.1mg and 1mg vials.
IGF-1 LR3 (Long Arg3 IGF-1) is a recombinant analog of human IGF-1 with two modifications: a 13-amino-acid N-terminal extension (Arg-Leu-Pro-Gly-Ala-Glu-Leu-Asp-Ala-Leu-Gln-Phe-Val) and a Glu3→Arg3 substitution. Together these modifications reduce binding to all six IGF binding proteins (IGFBP-1 through IGFBP-6) by approximately 1000-fold, while preserving full IGF-1 receptor (IGF-1R) binding affinity.
The result: circulating IGF-1 LR3 remains predominantly free (unbound), extending its biological half-life from ~12 minutes (native IGF-1) to 20–30 hours.
IGF-1 LR3 binds IGF-1R, a receptor tyrosine kinase, triggering two major downstream cascades:
HGH → GHR → JAK2-STAT5 → liver IGF-1 synthesis → circulating IGF-1 → IGF-1R activation. IGF-1 LR3 directly bypasses the HGH/pituitary axis to study IGF-1R biology in isolation. This makes it complementary to direct HGH research — both available from QSC Peptides.
